Ban on brokers

Hi

I am doing brokerage work in my society from past few years. Due to some arguments with the new committee they have sent me a letter stating that I am not allowed to sell or rent any flats in the society saying that I am not following the society rules. For whenever i have conducted business all my documentation was proper. I am also a registered broker. Other brokers who are friends with committee members are continuing with their brokerage business. Is there any law which allows the Managing commitee to ban me from doing my business. Also can i file a defamation case against the members? Please reply.

Contact a local advocate and send a befitting reply warning of such consequences as their threats in restraints of your bonafide business is unconstitutional. and that if any such adverse steps are taken, such office-bearers in individual capacity and society, in general, is legally bound to face the consequences for such illegal threats.

Tha committee is exceeding it's brief and usurping powers that are not vested with it. Continue your profession as per norms.

The Committee is only a private body; it has no powers to obstruct or otherwise interfere  with your freedom to carry out a business. The best option is to serve a legal notice seeking due compensation for loss of business as well as good will.

What is type of Society ? Whether society is registered and adopted some Bye-Laws or it is resident's welfare association ?

Whether your business of brokerage is similar to that of the Society ?

Seek service of a local prudent lawyer for proper analysing facts/ documents, professional guidance and necessary proceeding.
