Bonus is a legal compulsion of the employers. No employer would want to keep its organization's profits eaten through charity on any negotiation. Probably, Mr. Kumar Doab needs to know that negotiation can work for enhancement of wages, but not for payment of undue bonus, if not covered under the provisions of the Payment of Bonus Act.
Any company cannot be expected to fulfill the wishes of the employee, elders of his family, even if approached through trade union leaders. Only law compels them to pay through their noses.
