I slept in a draft the night I was arrested.

caveat only in civil matters. A property caveat can be used as a means of delaying a property transaction. Lodging one allows time for both parties to apply in court for their interest in the land. In some cases, a caveat is simply lodged to inform a third party about an interest being claimed.

No caveat is registered in criminal case(s) where an accused has applied for anticipatory bail.

Even in civil case caveat filed by a party do not delay hearing of the case since the caveator has to be informed at the time of filing an appeal/ case. Morever, the caviator has to be vigilant for filing such appeal/ case.
