change of caste

Dear all,

pls help me out with useful suggestions. I am in love with a boy of different caste, but we both r hindu. My parents r totally against it. He wants to change his caste and then marry me. Is that possible, many say ya it can be done by going to VAO and many say u cannot do it. I dont know wat to do and how to convince them as they r very strict in inter caste marriage. pls give ur suggestion.
