Change of job profile

Someone plz help me..... There was as opening in a private bank and they posted their requirements on some job site inviting applications... That particular opening was for the Banking Operations Profile. I applied for that position and got selected with 7 other candidates. Then we all were given appontment letters for that specific profile and were asked to join after two days in our respective branches. On the day of joining we all were told that we have been converted into sales manager for a pure sales profile. None of us is comfortable with our present sales profile. Can we all do something about it  ? Please guide.....

In your appointment letter company might have stated that you shall be required to perform tasks assigned to you from time to time.

However it is right time to submit your gentle dissent. You are being put in altogether different portfolio. You may mention that you have submitted your candidature and attended interviews at your cost and company has succeeded in recruiting you for the advertised vacancy, but you had to slip over various other option/employers and you honored your responsibility of joining after getting selected. You were neither the candidate for the sales position and nor you are now. If you are determined not to take up the employment and would rather prefer to slip over this employer you may indicate the costs/losses suffered by you.

You may start looking for other options. If the bank decided to terminate the contract, you may approach your lawyer to sue the bank.

Sales also fall within the scope of banking operations. Operations portfolios of employees can change at any time at the discretion of the management.
