complaint of theft

sir I have sold certain articles to a person and accepted cash from him towards consideration now police has come and asking me to return the money as it were stolen things. I am confused as how a money which is legal tender can be stolen article please advise me.

In response to your query,

If a false FIR has been filed against you, you can file an application with the High Court for the quashing of the false FIR under Section 482 of the CrPC, and the High Court, if convinced that the FIR has been falsely implicated, can utilize its inherent power under Section 482 CrPC to quash the FIR. 

After the High Court rules that the procedure was false and contrived, you can make a complaint with the magistrate or file an FIR with the police under sections 182 and 211 of the IPC against the individual who filed the false case against you and have him punished according to the law.
