I think the telegram recieved by SI amounts to FIR, as it relates to a cognisable offence.

BRO....

FIR STANDS FOR...?? FIRST INFO REPORT....RIGHT??

IT COULD EITHER BE ORAL OR WRITTEN OR IN ANY OTHER FORM....

IT BECOMES THE DUTY OF THE OFFICER (DUTY OFFICER IN THE POLICE STATION) TO WRITE IT DOWN IF ITS ORAL....AND LIKEWISE.....HOPE U GOT THE POINT....

The SI will proceed to the investigation after registering the FIR based on the telegram.

As the FIR is already registered, the information received by inspector later will not be first information.

TELEGRAM HAS TO BE TREATED AS FIR! READ S. 154 OF CR. P. C.

Literally, 'FIR' stands for the term "First Information Report". So, naturally, in whatever mode the information is received as first information, that would form part of the FIR.
