There is a general question for the experts here!
Can the summons be served by hand means without sending through post as the postman is used to write (takes bribe obviously) insufficient address, house locked, the name mentioned on the envelope is out of station, etc ,etc.
what cud be done in this context?

Make an application to that court, which issued the summons requesting to serve the summons and notices by "Direct Service" (Hath Bida)

After the amendment of the ocde of civil procedure 2002, the provisions are intoduced to shorten the trouble to serve the summons.
Details procedure jas been codified under order 5 of the c.p.c.
Specific privision is order 5 rule 9A.
Apart from this, if there is no return within 30 days from the date of posting of the summons, then the court can treat the summons has been served under order 5 rule 9(5) proviso upon the defendant.
