Manish Singh (Advocate) 08 October 2009
u need it for ur exams or just fr knowledge. of course hindu marriage can nt be termes as secular at any cost infact it is completely religious. first thing, under hindu marriage act only two hindus can get married and if one of them is not a hindu, the marriage shall be held void. this is not the case under christian marriage act wherin one of the spouse only must be a christian.
secondly, all th rituals and all that must be performed including saptapadi, so hw could we term it secular. the marriage speaks and regulates only hindus and no otehr religion can take benefit of that act.
speacial marriage act is a secular one.

Hindu marriages are marriages among hindus only. The question of secularism does not arise .
