A little explanation is in place.

In the matter of a document, where a document is required to be registered, its notarized copy is not accepted as evidence in a Court of Law. However a notarized copy of a duly registered document is accepted as evidence.

Thanks for your reply. Actually the Document I was referring is the District Muncif Court certified copy. It is required to be submitted/marked in two different courts as evidence. At this stage it is difficult to get 2 more Certified copies from the same DMCourt to meet the requirement. In such condition, I would like to know whether the xerox copies of the DMCourt certified copy duly Notarized by a Public Notary can it be accepted by the other courts as valid documentary evidence.

Also Public Information Officer certified copy of certain documents obtained from him  under RTI Act are also to be submitted/ marked in two different courts. If copy of this Certified Copy is duly Notarized by a Public Notary, whether the same can be accepted as valid documentary evidence  in the Court?

Madam,

It will be prudent to submit duly notarized copies of the document at both the Courts, with an affidavit assuring to produce the original whenever demanded. Further the notarized copies of the documents received against RTI can also be submitted, with an identical affidavit.
