Notice from police on complains of cheaing and forgery

One has made complaint against A of cheating and forgery in matter of a property.

Does the police officer require to give a notice to the accused or he can directly arrest the accused on complainant statement?

Should the accused wait for notice or should he go and record his statement on recieving call from police to come to police station ?

you provoke the police this way when the allegations are non-bailable.  This way you can ensure a good beating while in custody.

Thanks Sudhir Sir and other esteemmed lawyers.

Here's answer to Sudhir sir's questions.

1- A has been named as one of other 5 accused in a complaint by a complainant.

2- Allegation : cheating, forgery of docs. (so I feel 420, 467,471 and 120B)

3-Complainant has got certified copies from depts and produced along with complaint

4-PSI has called A to record his statement.

1- Is it true that if punishment is more than 7 years, no notice is required to arrest. Is it true?
2- Can one get Anticipatory Bail before FIR ?
