if a wife committed suicide, and seven years have not completed after the marriage, what would be the consequence? what is the duty of police? what is the duty of District Revenue Officer? is there any time limit for submitting the report by the DRO? If the husband has been arrested on bail, what is his rights? can anyone guide me?

dear,

if any person is released on bail. he has all the rights to live a normal life as citizen. there is no time limit in filing chargesheet by the Police investigation officer. but, it is expected that Police Investigating officer should conduct the investigation as expediously as possible. duty of police is to record the statemenent of family members, neighbours and other person who are associated with husband and wife.

If the wife commits suicide within seven years of marriage then as per law the onus is upon husband and his family to prove that they have no role and has not attributed to the suicide. On commission of suicide of wife, police has to register FIR and within 90 days have to file charge sheet. Husband and named accused have liberty to obtain bail. DRO office has no role as the matter is a crime and punishable in IPC. For any other guidance you may contact with details.
