Sachar Commission : New name of Jazia

Muslims ruled this country for over 600 years. They sucked all the resources of this country and took Jazia from Hindus. Still, they are considered poor, uneducated and backward. Sachar commission overlooked the average size of Muslim family for their backwardness and Madrases education for their unemployment. We did not raise this detail at the right form. Hence, this problem is concerning us. The History of this country from 1909-10 is being repeated again in 2009-10. At that time they demanded separate Muslim representation now reservation and implementation of Sachar & Rangnath Mishra commission. At that time, there was no Hindu organization to mobilize public opinion. Now, there are big Hindu organizations but no awareness to clarify this issue at the right form and no reaction. Hindu organizations must react spontaneously.

Sir, u have rightly observed and Thanks for the raising such a topic for debate.

This is nothing else than third grade rotten politics.  Muslims were and belong to ruling community, and they have never been oppressed/suppressed/hated communities as dalits, tribals and backward. Also they have been already rewarded by a nation called by Pakistan and Bangladesh. Their backwardness is due to entirely for a different reasons.  This will be a complete unjust to general category. Like this for the sake of benefit large scale conversion will take place. A general category Hindu cannot be converted into dalit/tribals/backward class but of course can be converted to Islam for the sake of benefit, which may create unrest.

These are my personal views and is not intend to hurt any one.

Reservations for Dalits and Tribals are there for different reasons.

Poona Pact

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Poona Pact refers to an agreement between the lower caste Untouchables (then called Depressed Classes, now referred to as Dalits) of India led by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the upper caste Hindus of India that took place on 24 September 1932 at Yerawada Jail in Pune (now in Maharashtra), India.

 History

To draft a new Constitution involving self rule for the native Indians, the British invited various leaders for Round Table Conferences in 1930-32. Mahatma Gandhi did not attend the first Round Table Conference but attended the later Conferences. The concept of separate electorates for the Untouchables was raised by Dr. Ambedkar. Similar provisions were already available for other minorities, including Muslims and Sikhs. The British government agreed with Ambedkar's contention, and British Prime Minister J. Ramsay MacDonald's Communal Award to the "depressed classes" was to be incorporated into the constitution for governance of British India. Gandhi strongly opposed it on the grounds that it would disintegrate Hindu society. He began an indefinite hunger strike at Yerawada Jail from September 20, 1932 to protest this Award.

As Gandhi's health worsened, Dr. Ambedkar was under tremendous pressure to save the life of Mahatma Gandhi. A compromise, the Poona Pact, was made between the leaders of caste Hindus and Dr. Ambedkar was reached on September 24, 1932.

Text of the pact

.

The text uses the term "Depressed Classes" to denote Untouchables who were later called Scheduled Castes under India Act 1935, and the later Indian Constitution of 1950. The Untouchables are now popularly known as Dalits.

Following is the text of the pact:

1) There shall be seats reserved for the Depressed Classes out of general electorate seats in the provincial legislatures as follows: -

Madras 30; Bombay with Sind 25; Punjab 8; Bihar and Orissa 18; Central Provinces 20; Assam 7; Bengal 30; United Provinces 20. Total 148. These figures are based on the Prime Minister's (British) decision.

2) Election to these seats shall be by joint electorates subject, however, to the following procedure –

All members of the Depressed Classes registered in the general electoral roll of a constituency will form an electoral college which will elect a panel of four candidates belonging to the Depressed Classes for each of such reserved seats by the method of the single vote and four persons getting the highest number of votes in such primary elections shall be the candidates for election by the general electorate.

3) The representation of the Depressed Classes in the Central Legislature shall likewise be on the principle of joint electorates and reserved seats by the method of primary election in the manner provided for in clause above for their representation in the provincial legislatures.

Central Legislature

4) In the Central Legislature 18 per cent of the seats allotted to the general electorate for British India in the said legislature shall be reserved for the Depressed Classes.

5) The system of primary election to a panel of candidates for election to the Central and Provincial Legislatures as herein-before mentioned shall come to an end after the first ten years, unless terminated sooner by mutual agreement under the provision of clause 6 below.

6) The system of representation of Depressed Classes by reserved seats in the Provincial and Central Legislatures as provided for in clauses (1) and (4) shall continue until determined otherwise by mutual agreement between the communities concerned in this settlement.

7) The Franchise for the Central and Provincial Legislatures of the Depressed Classes shall be as indicated, in the Lothian Committee Report.

8) There shall be no disabilities attached to any one on the ground of his being a member of the Depressed Classes in regard to any election to local bodies or appointment to the public services. Every endeavour shall be made to secure a fair representation of the Depressed Classes in these respects, subject to such educational qualifications as may be laid down for appointment to the Public Services.

9) In every province out of the educational grant an adequate sum shall be ear-marked for providing educational facilities to the members of Depressed Classes

You are correct sir.But we cant blame who looted us during muslim rule because at that times it can happen. If you chk the history of britain or other countries, you can see similar incidents. It is a true fact that hindus were prominent and they were the main community who existed those days.None of us havn't experienced or suffered the cruelties of muslim rule and so we cant blame muslim community for what their ancestors had done towards hindus. And now also muslim community is less in number. So we cant say that they are entitled to get benefits enforced by indian constituition..and ashutosh ji...if a one is real hindu and he understands hinduism,he wont trust or convert to another religion

Muslims looted us. British looted us. Everybody under the sun looted us.

"ashutosh ji...if a one is real hindu and he understands hinduism,he wont trust or convert to another religion"

Exactly sir. But nowdays opportunism is outweighing  hinduism, nationalism, religionism etc. Allurement is one of the significant reason for surrendering faith. So, many general caregory persons are trying/dying to get schedule caste/backward class ceritificates.  People are agitating to include their caste in SC/ST/OBC list. List is growing. Recent example is Gurjar movement in Rajasthan. One more category called "Mahadalit" is created in Bihar.

To avail or practice bigamy and other benfits people are changing their faith.

At last any move of politicians is going to benefit only opportunists. Since honest and sincere persons never wish to get undue advantage of the facility/benefits provided to them.

Rajkumarji, Good Day,

I respect your personal views. Just consider today's condition of the country. In the name of Reservation persons of every caste is affected. our children who are meritorious kindly ask them about the problem of reservation etc. Muslims simply demanded reservation which is not even supported by the Judiciary. Eg. Andhra Pradesh. Looting by Muslims in an exagerated manner can not ignore their contribution to this country we will have to see who is foreigner whether Muslims or ?Blaming Muslims may affect the intigety of the country. On one side their is Islamic Dahashatwad and on the other Safron as they say. Can we blame only Muslims ad what resources of the country are looted. We from legal fraternity can not think like a politician. Hope this does not hurt you.

We should work towards a multicultural inclusive society where all citizens can find opportunities for personal development. This matter of reservations can only be a temporary measure and has to be phased out. This hatred of Muslims, Christians, Dalits etc is extremely wrong. Do we want to build extermination camps like the Nazis did? Please think, dear friends, I appeal to you from my heart, encourage love, do not promote hate.
