Approved Plans shows the kitchen platform

The kitchen platform normally comes near the window of the kitchen. The developer is trying to install the kitchen platform on the opposite side of the window- kitchen which is not at all suitable because the smoke will not pass out of the window easily. I would like to know, is there any plan which shows the exact location of the kitchen platform in the kitchen and the same is being approved by the Municipal Authority.
