This is to inform you that we approached daya foundation on 4th Aug'14 to get our ward Mohit(name changed) admitted with them to get rid of his alcohol addiction. Daya foundation called us because we made an enquiry on just dial to know the nearest drug addiction center. Now because daya foundation is a paid member of just dial they managed to retrieve our number and contacted us to explain their services, treatment & therapy and so on. The caller named Shiva & harvinder madan took us through the entire USPs that that they have in store with them to get our ward completely out of alchohal addiction. Both these gentlemen were damn confident and sounded like angles to us. Basis all the conversation we decided to admit our ward in daya foundation.
On the night of 3rd august’14 we met shiva an madan face to face with our ward Mohit who was willing to give up his love for alchohal. He was all set and ready to live aloof and isolated from the family in hope to get away from the addiction he was suffering from. Shiva and Madan made us realise that we were at the right place. By the time we finished of the formalities it was already 1:00AM of 4rth aug. We left out ward in a 4 bedded room & with no ventilations & next to it was a big hall where lot of people to sleeping (as it was late at night). Shiva told us that Mohit would stay in this 4 bedded room for the next 45 days as this is the detoxification tenure and during this while we cannot call to speak with with him nor can we come to meet him. It was strange but we agreed to abide by whatever these guys wanted us to do. Every second statemen they made was that “it was for the benefit of our kid”
Now that we left we called up chiva the next day to enquire about Mohit & how was his first day? He replied to us that he is in a mode of isolation currently and no one would bother him for next 10 days. Shiva wanted him to adjust to the environment before bring in him on floor to follow the schedule that they have mentioned as time table in the very first room on pink char paper. So now we could only ask about his food habbits & whether or not he is being given timely food? We called up every day in the first week to get an assurance that the food is being given timely & hygiene is being checked and maintained everyday. Slowly our frequency of calls redced aseverytime we called it was the same response & we were taunted by the fact that we are becoming a hurdle in recoverypath by calling up evert 4th day.
Even though we were stopped from visiting and meeting our ward in the first 45 days we insisted to meet hm on the occasion of rakhi so that his sister could tie him the rakh. We went to the center but we were denied this opportunity & were sent back without practicing the rakh rituals. Post this we were eagerly waiting for the 45 day period to get over so that we may see the difference in our wards health & behaiviour standards.
I wanted to analyse the difference in the promised word by shiva and harvinder madan. Hence we entered the foundation on a surprise visit post completion of the 45 day period and wanted to check the actual performance against the promised statements. WE WERE SHOCKED TO SEE FILTHY CONDITIONWE WITNESED ON OUR SURPRISE VISIT. IT WAS HELL. “HELL” can still be cleaner that this slaughterhouse. I still remember, we were promised:
1. Your ward would wake up at 6:00am and go the yoga and exercise to free his mind.
-bloddy f**k they don’t let the ward sleep at night. Forget about the wake up time. Throughout night every one goes through a intense ragging session.
2. We were told that for the first 45 days our ward would be in 4 bedded accommodation. Our ward told us that the very next day he was beaten and moved to a hall with no amenities.
3. We were promised that nails would be checked daily in morning prayer & shaving would hapenen every alternate day. We did not believe our eyes that siddarth did not cut his hair even once! He grew his nails for the entire 50 days tenure he was there for & sahved only once when shiva sent us his pic on whatsapp.
4. Things just don’t stop here. We were promised that our ward would take bath everyday. But this could not become a reality as his undergarments were stolen within the campus by senior members of the campus.
5. We were said that detoxification is process were we cannot completely remove a patient away from all sort of addictions so they would give 8 bidis per day & would gradually reduce it. Unfortunaltely the offeref khaini, gutka to give the patient additional addictions.
6. Group discussion thrice a day, healthy debate and discussion to be a part of this GD. But when i asked shiva and harvinder that what kind of topics have you given in the last 45 days. Bloddy hell these two bas***
7. ds have no clue what language was i speaking. I demanded for a written copies of the pointers that they might have jotted down about my wards behaviour and responses in the past 45 days. But they did not have any thing that could give me an idea about what kind of progress has happened on the mental side of my ward. Shiva the son of a bi**ch did brought some papers to me but nothing was related to Mohit.
8. Shiva askes us more money for curd and milk given in the last one month. we gave him that hoping taht he has actually been giving our ward the milk product for which he asked the money but on confirmation from our ward at the later stage we got to know that it was the modesoperandy to make additional income & never ever he has got milk and curd.
9. Every day ther are three session called “ENCOUNTER’ session in which teams are created and are made to abuse each other. Anuse lead to fight and the veteran members lead from the front to handpick the people who are beaten by the entire group.
We all were patiently observing the outcome of the surprise visit and we re more surprised when we heared Mohit stating that he wants to stay for 2 more months to completely come out of addiction. On 25 september 2014 i made my mind to take him out of this filthy situation where we have placed him in & without any argument & debate we just moved him out. When my brother came out he was not able to walk because from last 3 days shiva had put one filled gas cylinder on his calves and other on his thighs. It was a result of my doing, because i asked for document proving his progress, after we ledt he was made to undergo this punishment. Oh my god what have i done to my ward by sending him here? Rahul when came out with us howling n cruign that they have done enough with him to make him say all good about the center. He also told about other guys who are inside and would either be killed our would commit suicide. There have been numerous attempt of suicide in the centre itself. Sombody would have to take control and stop this b*st*rds. For god sake help the ones who are still trapped insude. There are people who haven’t seen there families since 18 months and are tied in chains, are beaten every day. Some have lost their minds and have lost senses of what’s happening around.
Shiva calls himself a recovering member and has not gone back to family since last 2 years. He is proud to have neglected his family and is breeding the anti family thought in the patients admitted there. This has become more of terrorist camp where he does not make the family meet there loved ones & gives them a reason that “iski andar bahut gussa bhara hai. Bahar aa gaya to aap sabki jaan se maar dega” poor family has no option than to believe the mother fu#@er. He is mintin money & does not care for his family neither for the patients family.
Please get this center closed. Raid this center to get the clear picture. If you plan to take your ward to this center please reconsider your decision & do not lead him to death. If your ward is already in this center then better take him our before its too late.
Mohit today is in a rehab where there are no locks to lock your ward in rooms. Its a self motivated ceter where you have all the freedom to walk away if you u dont want to be a part of this exercise. I am happy that he is doing well. Every day we peak on phone. He gets good and timely meal that was never a case in daya foundation. He plays, talks, eat, laughs & pray with his own will to come back to us to complete family again! But at the same time asks me a question- “can we do something for the ones who are trapped in daya foundation?”
Answer to his question is with you all!! Decide and act against these butchers!!
