Review petition counter affidavit

I am a respondent in a first appeal as well as review petition. The appellant filed a review petition against the judgment given in first appeal. I was represented by a lawyer in the first appeal, but I want to appear as a party in person in the review petition. Is this allowed? In my counter affidavit to review petition, can I raise additional issues in addition to those raised by the petitioner?

You can appear party in person.  But you cannot raise new issues in your counter.
