Your sister's situation is very disheartening, as she's been dealing with many cruel acts from the first day (after her marriage) itself.

As per your query you said that - "shaadi k agle hi din unhe bhot maara or unko jalane ki koshish kri". This is a very crucial scenario that your sister has dealt at her in-laws place.
And now they're even demanding for the money spent in marriage as a compensatory amount in order to agree for divorce.

In order to help your sister out of this you may proceed to lodge a police complaint for -
# harassment,
# money demand by in-laws for expenses incurred in marriage,
# criminal intimidation,
# domestic violence,
# attempt to murder and
#voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
Based upon the complaint or FIR registered by you against her in-laws, you may proceed to file a civil suit in court which has competent jurisdiction over the issue.

As per the circumstances you may file the suit under given sections of Indian Legal System -

# Section 307 - Attempt To Murder

# Section 319 - Hurt

# Section 320 - Grievous Hurt

# Section 321 - Voluntarily Causing Hurt

# Section 322 - Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt

# Section 326 - Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt by Dangerous Weapons or Means

# Section 354 - Assault  or  Criminal  Force  to  Woman  with  Intent  to  Outrage  her Modesty

#Section 498(a) - Husband or Relative of husband of a woman Subjecting Her To Cruelty

# Section 503 - Criminal Intimidation
Filing cases as per the given sections would help you and your sister to reach Justice.

Hope it helps

Thanks

In the given facts, law provides many a remedy. Ignore the empty threats and initiate action as provided by law.
