Fake dowry case

Hi,we need help. My brother got married in May 2014 with simple marriage and we have not taken any thing from bride because they are from poor family. With the time , we came to know girl is having some mental imbalance and claim she sees lady, who asked her to do all nonsense things even puting something on fire etc. we asked her parents to improve her but no change. Then we asked her parents , we are done and will not  bear more and send her with them in Jan 2015. and we conitously asked her parents for settlement. Now after 1 year they are demanding Six lac even they not have spended a singly penny and asking valuable along with that to settle divorce. They are forcing us otherwise  they will charge our full family in fake divorce case. we are not in a position to pay such a huge amount and also a  younger sister . Any procedding on her and my brother affects their whole life  Please suggest a way to come out of this.

file an nc in the police station that your wife or inlaws might file false cases against you.in case if they file any false case also you can fight the case on merits.so dont worry

1. File a compliant at your local police station mentioning that you fear that you and your family might be falsely implicated in a dowry demand case.

If the police refuse to take down the complaint then put it in writing and send to to the senior inspector of police of your local police station and to the SSP/DCP/DGP of your state via speed post only, don't bother with registered delivery with reply card, it's a waste of time and money as the police will just keep the letter and not return the reply card. After its delivered, print out the delivery report from the post office website and have it stamped from the post master of your local post office.

This will be proof of delivery along with a copy of the letter you had sent, it's as good as an NC.

2. Have all conversations with any family members on the girls side recorded on your mobile. This can be a vital peice of evidence needed in the future.

3. If at all possible try and settle the matter and go for mutual consent divorce

Agreeing with both views above, you also can file CrPC 144 to the district court to prevent, or tends to prevent, obstruction, annoyance or injury to any person lawfully employed, or danger to human life, health or safety, or a disturbance of the public tranquility, or a riot, of an affray.

Since your brother can’t stay with her, he should look for live-in-relationship partner until get divorce. Please don’t sue divorce. Let her sue.
