1. DO NOT MARRY in a family that has filed a 'fake' 498A case.
2. INVEST some money on investigation and try to get full details about the girl and her family (MUST)
3. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY GIFTS or MONEY before marriage. If possible, ask the girl parents to give an affidaavit that they are not giving anything OR the boy family is not demanding anything.
4. SIMPLE SOLUTION - DO NOT GET MARRIED IN INDIA :) OUR LAW SUCKS AND SOME OF OUR LAWYERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT JUSTICE.. THEY are simply concerned about their fees. IT IS A SIN TO MARRY IN A COUNTRY (they call it world's biggest democracy) LIKE INDIA.
