Investment in real estate by foreign nationals

Is investment in REAL ESTATE by Foreign Nationals allowed in India ??

Can property be registered in the name of FOREIGN NATIONALS or FOREIGN COMPANIES in India ?

In my opinion yes investment by Foreign National is permitted in India as per the rules, regulations under FEMA/FDI Norms. RBI & FIPB are the Regulators for such transactions.
