Is a compromise decree as valid as a contested decree?

Hello everyone. According to Indian law, does a compromise decree passed by a court enjoy the same validity as a contested decree?

Obviously the decree of a court is decree and in compromise decree  nither of the parties would get easy grounds to challen the same.

A decree is always a decree by a competent court and the parties in the compromise can not challenge within themselves.  Generally, the court refers to such compromises before Lokadalat at the request of parties for getting an award.

Thanks for all your replies. So, would it be possible to take action against local municipal body based on the power of such a compromise decree? I have become the owner of an apartment based on such a compromise decree with my brother.
