Kindly advise

Respected experts, I am little confused kindly educate me. My father passed away without leaving a will. He had the following: 1. A plot of agricultural land 2, A bank Account ( Rs 17000) 3. A few shares My mother is alive and I am the only son. Now for transferring the above we should get Succession Certificate or Legal Heir Certificate ? Which one is useful in my case. Succession Certificate is a long drawn process I have heard. Please clarify. Regards

Better go for succession certificate. It is a penancia to solve all those cases as stated by u. And for your kind information it is not take too much time subject to be not contested. Within 8 month u can get copy of the abovesaid certificate.

For Immovable property no succession certificate is necessary.you and your mother inherits it.so give a petition to change khata to your name with g tree,death certificate with agricultural documents.
