Law Related to maintenance of personal records of employees?

Dear All,

My self Revathi from Indore(M.P). I'm new to this forum.

Can anyone provide me the reference of the Act which states that the employer need to maintain the personal files ( with all the documents) of the employees.

I think it is Shops & establishment Act.

Pls correct me if i'm worng.

i would appreciate if any one could provide me the bare act of Shops & Establishment Act in soft copy for M.P.
