No, even if your marriage is not registered it will not be illegal. You should have proof of marriage such as photographs, video if any, proof of witnesses and priest to prove your marriage in court or before any authority, if required.

even if the marriage is not registered its a legally valid marriage as long as you can prove it through available proofs like photo, video, invitation copy, eye witness to marriage etc.is your husband living with his parents and you are made to stay alone? is he giving maintenance to you and do you wish to join your husband
