As – Is Process Nativity Certificate
Nativity means a place by virtue of one’s birth. Nativity certificate is a legal document to prove that the applicant or his ancestors are born in the state. These certificates are mainly issued for getting admission in the school and to the seek job opportunities.
Nativity certificate is issued to those who are born in Kerala and their children. The children of those who born in other States and settled in Kerala after marriage are also eligible for obtaining nativity certificate. All others are entitled for only Residential Certificates
Some unique cases are:
· Females from outside state, married to native of Kerala can be issued nativity certificate.
· Nativity Certificate can be issued for persons from outside state but parent’s native of Kerala.
· Nativity Certificate can also be issued to person from outside Kerala, but living in the state for 5 years continuously.

In case of certificate required for central purpose, the VO conducts enquiry, prepares report. And forwards the application with the report to the Tahsildar.

The application along with the supporting documents is received at the Taluk Office Tapal section. Tapal is entered, file number generated, documents scanned and forwarded to section clerk.

Deputy Tahsildar.

The Deputy Tahsildar scrutinizes the application and the submitted documents.

The Deputy Tahsildar again conducts enquiry himself if he is not satisfied with the verification report/documents. (On appointment by Tahsildar). The Deputy Tahsildar puts his remarks.

Tahsildar receives the application form, report and documents along with recommendation of Deputy Tahsildar ad the VO.

Application request is approved both physically and through the Taluk Suit by Tahsildar for issuing nativity certificate to the applicant.

After the approval a print of the certificate is taken and signed by the Tahsildar

In case of puts remarks for rejection, Tahsildar reserves the right of rejection of application.

The Tahsildar forwards the certificate to the concerned clerk who intern submits it to the counter from where the citizens collect the same.
