necessary wearing apparel under CRPC

What does " necessary wearing apparel in sec 51 of CRPC mean ? "
can a person who is arrested be asked to remove his shirt eventhough the arrested person doesn't like to do so? how a arrested person can protect him from such a case?

Where it is written that a person being arrested has to remove the clothes; You fail to understand the simple wordings; The term is "other than necessary wearing- apparel" ;

The police officer while arresting a person may ask the person arrested to hand over everything he has, other than necessary apparel and place those seized articles in his custody

The above stated provision of law is often misused to humiliate the person arrested to remove his shirt and make him to sit on the floor on the guise that police makes a search and they make sure that he is not hiding anything. In some worse cases arrested person is made to sit inside the lock up with underwear
