police submitted adverse report for current address

I applied to renew my passport because i wanted to include spouse name. I am living in a rented apartment from last 3 years, I got my passport as is required post police verification. police came and did verification but he asked for proof of rented apartment for last five years which i denied as i had only for three years aadhar card and old rent agreement. He told me that in this case verification is required for my permanent address, I agreed. He asked for 600 Rs, which I gave him happily. Now i got adverse report sms for current address. I do not understand why. I have a plan to go on vacation soon and I have booked tickets etc. I got an appointment to RPO but its 10 days from now. Please suggest.
