Proble in samsung led tv

Sir,

I have purchased Samsung LED 40 inch TV cost was about 54000/- in 15/11/2011, and the warrenty is only for 1 year.

From 30th July 2013 I am facing problem in LED TV like about 10CM BLACK strip is coming on upper part of the TV. I called Samsung service executive and he said its TV panel problem(he is claiming that even new LED TV's will also come with Panel problem that means its manufacturing defect) and needs to replace the whole TV panel itself and he has given estimation for replacement of panel is around 24000 its alsomst half of the TV cost. I purchased this TV 18 months back by paying 54000 Rs.

This TV din't work atleast for 5 years and now I have to pay almost half of the TV cost to repair that. Is it justified ? can I go to consumer court regarding this, Please suggest.

In the internet I searched complaint against the same model with same problem I found 3 more persons also facing same problem what I am facing.

Thank you
Manju

Mr. Manjunath,

The company will accept liability for the defective product only till the warranty period and beyond that, whatever the reason may be, the company may not accept the responsibility  hence do not fight a losing battle.  Once the warranty period stands expired, even the consumer forum will not entertain any complaint in this regard, so better do not waste your time over this and of course in case you want to damage the name of the company over the issue, send the message through press.
