Query on women's rights on property

A family has 5 Women and 2 men as childrens. Parents have passed away and all these 5 women have been married before 1987. The male children is now claiming the property saying women who married before 1987 do not have rights in the property. It belongs to the male children completely. Is this true that all the female children cannot claim for the property. It's around 28 acre land.

It is incorrect and wrong opinion or information.

Under  Hindu Succession act 1956, the daughters have equal rights at par with the sons out of their parents properties

The daughters need not have to accept such false rumours, they can file a suit for partition and ask for their rightful share with separate possession

P. Venu (Advocate)     13 September 2024

The property of the late parents have jointly devolved upon all the children and the daughters have the option to file a suit for partition.
