Refusing to refund

What is the maximum punishment an individual can face when he plainly refuses to refund an advance that he has taken from someone .

Both of the parties have also signed an agreement where it is clearly written that refund should be made under the prevailing conditions.

 You may file a criminal complaint of cheating with the local police;

(b) You may also file a complaint with the local consumer forum for recovery of your money

Legal recourse under both Civil and Criminal laws are open to you depending upon  relevant clauses of your agreement.

Under Criminal law only punishment is given which does help you in recovering your money .

I suppose you are not a licenced Money lender, and in such a case you have recheck the agreement for taking available legal remedy.

Any experienced local lawyer can guide you properly in the matter.

Well advised byexperts. You may lodge a complaint with the local police for the offences of cheating or file a money recovery suit before a civil court. Contact a local lawyer and proceed.
