We are group of M.tech passed out students planning to start a GATE Coaching academy in Bangalore. Could you please help us with the rules or procedures that we have to follow to get the institute registered and also about any government legalities we should know about?

First u need to specify ur objective, name of ur prospective coaching class. e.g. XYZ GATE COACHING CLASS.
Secondly U can registered your own company that may be OPC/LLP/ sole propertership/pvt ltd.
Thirdly open your Current bank account and do transaction through it.
