In India, registration of a will, whether it is for movable or immovable proprty is not compulsary. however, it must be attested by two component witnesses.
Probate is basically the authentication of a will by a component court of jurisdiction. No will can be executed if it is not probated and thus one can challenge the genuinity of a will.
