An employee cannot escape from workplace politics, but can try to avoid.
But, narrow mindedness on the part of any authority cannot be anticipated. However, besides being disciplined, an employee is also required to be vigilant from getting deceived by any authority or subordinates.
But, in your case, you will not be justified to blame your Supdt of Post Offices, as according to rules on unauthorised qabsence, on charge having been proved, he was compelled to dismiss, terminate or remove you from the post.
So, I am of the opinion that the Supdt of Post Offices has taken a lenient view in your case and restricted your penalty only to the extent of removal from service instead of dismissal or termination from service. So, you should better be thankful to him that he made you eligible for another Government job. Otherwise, had he been so deceptive, as you feel, he would have awarded the most stringent penalty of termination or dismissal from service, as per the provisions of rules on the issue.
