reservation for PWD PERSON.

Hello Sir,

My query is about maximum year limit of reservation given by a state to the handicapped person of that state when they have not been getting any candidate on that post for many years??

From 10 year that post going vacant, and more than 4 times advertisement came.
Every time they didn't get a single application from their state.
So sir, can other state eligible candidates can apply.
Or I should raise this issue with commissioner of physically challenged, New Delhi.

Thanks with regards

Respected Sir,

“The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995” ensures equal opportunities for the people with disabilities and their full participation in the nation building. The Act provides for both the preventive and promotional aspects of rehabilitation like education, employment and vocational training, reservation, research and manpower development, creation of barrier- free environment, rehabilitation of persons with disability, unemployment allowance for the disabled, special insurance scheme for the disabled employees and establishment of homes for persons with severe disability etc.

The PwD reservation quota in government jobs has been one of the highly appreciated policies that allow for recruitment and hiring of PwD candidates in suitable posts. Despite being such positive and enabling policy not many including the ones who can benefit from it are aware of the different facets of PwD Reservation Quota in Government Jobs.

The calculation of reservation quota for PwD candidates is done on the basis of total number of vacancies arising out of a particular group of service. However, the reservation policy will only be valid and applicable on posts identified by the ministry of social justice of the concerned department for appointment purposes. Put simply, for calculation of reserved seats both identified and non-identified posts are taken into consideration, whereas for appointments are only made to posts identified for PwD candidates.

For instance, if there are 1000 vacancies across different posts in Group C service of the central government, then 30 seats will be deemed as reserved for PwD candidates. However, all those 30 candidates picked through PwD reservation quota will be appointed to few posts that are identified as suitable for PwD candidates to discharge their job duties.

Similarly, for calculation of PwD quota for promotion will be calculated on the basis of all vacancies that are to be fulfilled through promotion. However, only posts that are identified as suitable for PwD candidates to discharge their job duties will be filled through reservation.

hope you find this helpful.

regards
