shrikant v. sathe (retired)     13 September 2012

Right of a shareholder

I am a shareholder of one of the multistate scheduled  co-op.bank in pune.In the annual general meeting One of the shareholder asks the bank to show its audit report for the financial year 20011-2012.The chairman of the bank denied to show the audit report. My question is  can a shareholder ask the chairman to show audit report? Why the chairman is denying to show the report. The chairman also denying to show the list of written off loan acounts.Does the law make any difference regarding rights of shareholders in co-op bank and multi-state co-op bank.?What will be the recourse?May I apply to The Central Registrar for getting audit report of the concerned bank under rti act, because central registrar comes under rti act.Do the central vigillance guidelines apply to multi-state co-op bank?
