STAMP DUTY

iN MANY SITES THE STAMP DUTY FOR A SALE DEED IN KERALA MENTIONED AS 8.5%.

BUT ACTUALLY, IT IS 15.5% ( 8.5%-STAMP DUTY, 5%-SURCHARGE,2%-REGISTRATION FEE)

I HOPE THE STAMP DUTY OF OTHER STATES MAY HAVE DIFFERENCE. KINDLY EVERY ONE DENOTE THE REAL STAMP DUTY (REGISTRATION EXPENCES) OF EACH STATE OF INDIA.

sir, yes. you posted is real. govt. and websites do not spread correct information about stamp duty. if anyone want to purchase land from other state he should have clear knowledge about registration charges.

Under Stamp  Act - Artcles Stamp Duty is to be caliculates ,  +Surcharge local Bodies Duty and Rgistration Fee all together to be caliculated - that may come to 15-5 in your state !

In AP -

Sale deed - 7% + 2% + 0-5 % = 9-5 % of basis Vlaue ( i.e;- Stamp Duty +  Surcharge/local Bodies duty + Registration Fee ) !
