Succession Certificate

I want to obtain succession certificate. the property is in other state, my father had taken a loan on that property, now the loan has been repaid, father expired, now i want to release the papers of the property, bank is asking for succession certificate.

My question is whether i have to obtain Succession Certificate from the state where i leave or from the state where the said property is situated?

Does any question arise whether where my father expired, etc.?

For Succession Certificate (SC) or Letter of Administration (LA),  the jurisdicttion of the Property is important.  Hence the SC or the LA will have to be applied for in the competent courts of the State jurisdiction, in which the property is situated.

Copy of father's Death Certificate is sufficient enough, if there are no other legal heirs to the property.  While filing for SC / LA, it would also be important to include the Bank, as a party and ask for appropriate directions from the court, if the Bank files any contra replies / statements.
