Voilation religious rights

Dera Sir

Sub: Kind request  - opinion in a Religious issue , SCCL Coal Industry, AP– Reg.

Reference to the subject cited above, it is inform that there is no provision of holidays for Christian festivals in the Coal Mining Industry of SCCL, AP.

In coal industries the policy of number of holidays is around 9 per year. Out of these 9, 4 holidays viz; Gandhi Jayanthi, Independence Day, Republic day and Workers day i.e. May Day are mandatory. 04 for Hindu festivals Sankranti, Deevali, Vijayadasami & Holi and 01 for Muslim festival Muharram and 00 for Christian festivals (Good Friday, Easter and Christmas).

How far the above holidays justification is correct in a secular country like India. Kindly give your valuable opinion in this regard to the PM & MoC.  Why Christianity was not considered.

Good Friday, Easter and Christmas are the chief festivals for the Christians unanimously. Everywhere in India except in the coal mines, the above said festivals celebrated, observed as holidays.

We yearn for

§          Right to equality

§          To respect our religion

§          To celebrate our prime festivals and ecstasy

§          To visit holy places with our friends & relatives on festivals

§          To worship and pray at churches on festivals

§          To help poor and work for global peace in the world

Further, several representations were sent to Indian Govt. unfortunately no proper justification was made till date,

Kindly advice to get justification in the matter
