Buying without a deed

Hello

i am keen on a property which the owner inherited from his grandfather. The grandfather is now deceased but the owner did not get the property by gift deed. the gradfather wrote a will in his favor which was registered and a probate was obtained. my question is : is sale of such a property possible as there is no deed of reference.

Thanks

Dear Nilanjana,

Being ancestral property of the person selling to you has valid and marketable title with Will in his favour.  However, you insist him to get the Revenue Record in his name before transferring the property to you.  It is advised to you to collect the Revenue Records for the land and the Will at the time of registration.
