Change of name

Hi,

I am working for an MNC with total of 7 years experience. I would like to change my name due to religious reason. I would like to know whether its advicable to do the same.

How long and how tough is it for the entire process.

Should i be changing in all my certificates - SSLC, +2, B.E, Experience Certificate, passport, pan card, driving license, bank account. Oh my god, i am really confused, but i am really in need to change my name.

Please help me!

dear querist,

you can change your name to anything if you want to do so ,no matter what is the reason you feel behind it.you have to file a declaratory suit and after that publication will be done in local newspaper or magazine and you will get your name changed,it can take upto 2 to 6 months and there is no need to change your name in all your documents like marksheet,pan number and other documents as this procedure will provide you the orders copy from court ,you will seems to be one person old name alias new name .feel free to call.

Thanks for your quick feedback. I agree regarding the certificates. It would be helpful if you also clarify me regaring the Passport as I am planning to move abroad in the near future. So how will this process (Name change) effect me. And what all are to procedures to be followed for the passport.
