My friend's son has the father's name as the name of person to whom she was married. When she was expecting they seperated and later after divorce she remarried the child's biological father. Now the problem is that the birth certificate carries the name of father as the ex husband's name whereas the name of the biological father is different. At the time of birth she had to give the name of ex husband because the hospital will not accept without husband's name. Now is there any procedure by which the name of father can be changed to the biological father on the birth certificate. May be a petition can be filed and with DNA report alongwith it the procedure can be done. Can somebody guide for the child's future sake..
