Name expansion in birth certificate minor 4.5yrs

Hi,

I need to get the Initials of my daughter's name expanded in the Birth Certificate. My daughter is around 4.5yrs old. I am a resident of Bangalore. When i contacted the BBMP office they mentioned that name cannot be changed in the birth certificate.

Please let me know the details to get the name corrected in the birth certificate

Dear Sri.Harish,

You have to publish the cchange of name in the Government Gazette and a local daily. Approach the Government Press. They will have forms for this. They will also guide you in the steps to be followed. When you apply for copies of the Governnent Gazette, ensure you apply for 5 to 10 copies. This will come in handy in future. Once published, this will be sufficient record of change of name.
