Notorised vs registered agreement

Hi,

What is a diiffernce between notorised and registerd agreement. Does notorised agreement is legally valid too.

No doubt notorised agreements are valid if it satisfies legal formalities.Even unregistered agreements are legally valid provided it is duly stamped and in accordance with the provisions of the contract act.

u have to refer S. 17 of the indian registration act whereby ceritain deeds and agreements r mandatorily required to b registered....ppl skip registeration by serveral act just to avoid stamp duty or registration cost involved......

Why shud an agreement be notarised?

Attestation of an agreement by independent witness/s is enough, I thought.
