Can a nri with oci status be trustee of spiritual trust?

Even foreign nationals can be trustees.

Can any one leave a light on the question asked regarding OCI and Trust. By career and interest became OCI but the forefathers created Trust already . Can I be a Trustee . This Trusteeship has no salary. Just maintain or give POA to people there and maintain the Good intentions of the spiritual trust. Plan to include a small charity with the land income very less. to start to help the poor students etc.

PLEASE LEGAL people help by your advice and if you got any official article on this if possible or your comments only etc.......

Local lawyers say I am a foreigner and cant become a trustee . IS IT TRUE or he is cheating.   See above  what is asked. already.

Yes you can be a trustee as OCI holder as per recent judgment from the ITAA tribunal..

There is no mention of OCI, It is always mentioned as NRI. Are you ok?
