Can a public charitable trust be converted to a section 8 company

Sirs, A Public charitable trust was formed in 1945. The present trustees wish to convert the Trust into a Section 8 company. There is land , buildings in the Trust and and also tenants living in the property of the Trust.

Please throw light on this.

Yes, it is possible to convert a Trust into Section 25 company. 
I think the date of formation of NGO will remain the same but it will be considered as Company from the date on which it is converted into Company.

Yes, it's possible to convert a Trust into Section 8 company. A company is appertained to as Section 8 Company when it registered as aNon-Profit Organization (NPO) i.e. when it has motive of promoting trades, commerce, education, charity, protection of terrain, sports, wisdom, exploration, social weal, religion and intends to use its gains (if any) or other income for promoting these objects.
