the registration fee for wil is Rs.
100/- or 500/ - and the registering authority is Registrar of your
local territorial jurisdcition. But one imporatnt thing is
that  registration of a will is not mandatory.

its not a question that whether will is rigistered or not. A will must be proved as duly & validly executed, as required by the Indian Succession Act. A will is to be registered with the local registrar or sub registrar with a nominal registration fee. The testator must be personally present at the registrar office along with witnesses. and no stamp duty is required to be paid for executing a will. There fore need not be made on stamp paper.
