Since the vehicle is not yet transferred in any case the insurance will not accept the premium in your name. Pay the premimum in the old name with an intimation to the insurer that the person has expired. After the vehicle is transferred you can get the insurence policy transferred in your name by payment of  a very nominal fee for transfer of insurance policy. After all the DTO will also not accept the form for transfer if it finds that the insurance is not valid.

Thanks for reply, but in between the transfer of vechicale registration and insuerence if something wrong happens then who wil take the claim?

The law says that untill and unless the vehicle is transferred the registered owner of the vehicle is liable, but in your case since the vehicle registered owner has expired and if you allow some body to drive the vehicle that means being the legal heirs of the deceased you have allowed to drive the vehicle so naturally you will be liable. The vehicle will be prresumed to be transferred when the DTO finally sign on the form you have applied for your transfer. Try to get your vehicle transferred before reaching a unfortunate situation. u r welcome.
