Yes! A victim can retract his confession made before a Magistrate u/s 164 Cr.P.C and turn hostile. It /such statement is only for corroborative purposes along with other direct clinching evidence.

Jo complaint m bola h , WO chief m a Jana chiye , Jo 164 m bola h , WO improvement hoga , but if other pws except formal witness supports his version then its ok
