Guest (Querist) 16 April 2025 This query is : Resolved
Sir ,
I have very important query to ask, I liked one girl but as usual that India family problem .
She is relative to me , the girl is my stepmothers cousin’s doughter as we are not related by blood .
Does it affect your court marriage decision ?
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 16 April 2025
It may not come under sapinda or restricted relationship if your contents are correct.
Guest (Querist) 16 April 2025
Yes the relationship between is correct just like I said my stepmother’s cousin sister’s doughter.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 16 April 2025
If it is not a restricted relationship then you can proceed.
Advocate Bhartesh goyal (Expert) 16 April 2025
No, such relation do not restrict you to marry her.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 16 April 2025
nearly escaped sapinda relation.
kavksatyanarayana (Expert) 16 April 2025
If the girl is your stepmother's sister's daughter, it is restricted; you can marry the girl if the girl is your stepmother's brother's daughter.
Dr. J C Vashista (Expert) 17 April 2025
Which religion (Hindu, Muslim, Christian etc.) do you and the girl profess ?
Guest (Querist) 17 April 2025
Both girl and I are from Hindu religion .
kavksatyanarayana (Expert) 17 April 2025
As you are Hindu, you cannot marry a girl who is the daughter of your stepmother's sister; you can marry a girl who is the daughter of your stepmother's brother.

Dr. J C Vashista (Expert) 18 April 2025
If both of you are Hindus, the relationship falls under prohibited spinda and you may (should) not marry, since she is your sister in relation, being daughter of your mausi (step-mother's sister)
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 19 April 2025
In this case it appears that the gotra of parents and grandparents of both of you does not appear to be clashing. In this case the relation appears to be out of Sapinda.
