degree issue

(Querist) 18 June 2023 This query is : Resolved
Ques-1)
I was a student of IGNOU from 2019 - 2021 (June session) . In my Marksheet and Degree it has been mentioned that I passed the exam of June 2021 but the issue date in my Marksheet is October 2021 and in my Degree is August 2021 . So which date should I choose?

Ques-2)
My Degree issue date is August 2021 and Marksheet issue date is October 2021 ..However I have seen earlier that the degree is issue after several month of marksheet issue. So is it Ok or it can create any issue in future at the time of document verification.

Ok sir .but I want to know if University is not working according to UGC guidelines so what can I do ? As according to UGC 2008 regulation 4.4, Degree is issued within 180 days after the issue of Marksheet . And in my case degree has been issued earlier. Should I file an RTI or what else I can do ..means what is more beneficial? Kindly help.

There is no problem as you passed the exam in June 2021. The mark sheet will be given within 180 days means from the date of publication of the result and before but not exceed 180 days. so no need to file under RTI.

But sir how the Degree can be issued earlier than our Marksheet/grade card . Because degree we get in convocation or after the convocation and in my case degree has a issuing date which is of 2 month earlier than my Marksheet issue date

Meet higher officers in IGNUO.

The results of the examination is based on the examination held in a particular time.
Therefore the examination date would be vital as is mentioned in the degree certificate.
you can always quote that and produce the copy of the marks sheet and the degree certificate to support your claim.

You would become eligible to get a degree on the date of declaration of your result by the university.

On the day itself you are eligible to get a provisional degree certificate which you can produce before any authority as a record of your pass in the examination and on that day onwards you will become eligible for applying for any higher course or examination like UPSC Civil Service.

That provisional certificate will be valid till the university starts issuing the original degree certificate, probably after three months or so.
